CORK CITY PPN REGISTRATION FORM

MEMBERSHIP
Membership is open to groups and organisations who: 
  • Are in existence for at least six (6) months. 
  • Have at least three (3) members and are open to new members. 
  • Meet regularly.  
  • Are volunteer-led and operate on a not-for-profit basis. Organisations may have paid staff but must be under voluntary control. 
  • Carry out their objectives in a clear and transparent manner. 
  • Support the aims, objectives and principles of the PPN.  
  • Are independent and non-party political. 
  • Have an appropriate governance structure (have their own constitution/ governing document/ set of rules for operation).
  • Have a committee and hold an annual General Meeting (AGM).
  • Have a base in and / or be active in Cork City and / or have a significant proportion of activities or members in the Cork City Local Authority Area (ie. have a postal address within the Cork City boundary area).
  • Do not already have representational rights through other institutions of social partnership e.g. trade unions, business organisations, etc.

If you are eligible for full membership of Cork City PPN, your group is allowed to nominate people to sit on Boards/Committees as PPN Representatives and your group is allowed to vote in PPN elections. 

Groups or organisations who do not meet the Cork City PPN Full Membership criteria at the time of application can apply for Associate Membership. Associate members cannot nominate PPN Representatives to sit on boards or committees or vote in PPN elections.

Most groups come under the Community & Voluntary College. The Social Inclusion College is made up of groups that use community development approaches to improve the life chances and opportunities of those who are most at risk of marginalisation in society. Acceptance to the Environmental College is subject to further verification after application.

What will Cork City PPN do with your information?

Groups joining Cork City PPN are providing us with their contact details in order to enable them to be fully consulted and included in the local democratic processes as well as in the national network of PPNs. 


Groups joining the PPN are entering an agreement that the details they supply may be shared with other members of the network, with the elected representatives of the PPN, with members of Cork City PPN’s secretariat, with the Environmental Pillar, with Cork City Council and with other bodies or persons who require access in order to facilitate the ongoing work of the PPN. 


When you join Cork City PPN you are also agreeing to receive emails and newsletters from us. 


Cork City PPN will not supply the information provided to it to any person or organisation not engaged in PPN work or activities or in the community and voluntary sector in Cork City.


In the future Cork City PPN may display the names and locations of member groups on its website. Individuals or member groups may request to have their personal data supplied to them and/or removed from or updated on the register by giving 30 days’ notice to Cork City PPN
